Sweet Potato Ball

Who doesn’t love Taiwanese street food? Since most of us unable to travel for quite some time, let’s make these chewy and bouncy Taiwanese sweet potato balls!! ???
A delectable snack treat not to be missed.

Ingredients:

OKI Peanut Aroma Premium Cooking Oil
160g sweet potato
36g sugar
60g tapioca flour
15g corn flour

Cooking Instructions

1. Remove the skin of sweet potato and cut into smaller pieces to fasten the steaming process. Steam sweet potatoes for about 20 minutes or until soft.
2. Allow the sweet potatoes to cool slightly. It should be at the temperature that you able to touch them without any discomfort. Using a fork to mash the sweet potatoes.
3. Then add in tapioca flour, corn flour and sugar. Mix until a dough is formed.
4. Divide the dough into small, equal portion and roll them into small balls. Set aside.
5. Heat OKI peanut aroma premium cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is heated, deep fry the sweet potato balls and fry them for about 2 minutes. Move the sweet potato balls during frying. When the sweet potatoes balls start to turn light golden brown, press the balls down in the oil with a strainer until the balls turn golden brown. The cooking process takes about 6 to 8 minutes. Enjoy!!
